It’s a three storied large building to accommodate. Pre school classes in the
ground floor and Grade 1-9 classes in the upper floors.
Branch commenced in January 2004 with 44 students and to 7 teachers. Mrs.Loretta
Fernando worked as the branch coordinator. In 2008 Mrs. Mallika Jayamanna took
over the Branch as the head mistress since then student population increased by
50% and now there are students close upto 440 and 30 teachers. Teacher student
ratio is 15% The new Principal is Mr. N.S.De Silva. |

Academic Stream |
We conduct classes from play group to grade
9.In the preschool we have play
group, Nursery and Kindergarten classes, following Montessori curriculum with
all novel advancements to suit International Standards. From Grade 1 we move to
Local curriculum and following Local syllabi approved by the Department of
Education, to train the children for National examination G.C.E.(Advanced
Level). The teachers follow the lesson plans prepared by them with the
concurrence of the Principal or Head mistress. This procedure and classroom
teaching is always under the supervision of the management. To improve the
quality of education we have organized the following facilities.
Laboratory
Well equipped laboratory is there fore the students to do experiments and
pracrticles relevant to their subject matters with the guidance of qualified
science teachers.
Library
Our library consists of
300 books and magazines, adequate space & quiet
environment for the students to read and enhance their knowledge.
Computer lab
We have a computer lab with all the facilities to enhance their IT knowledge with theory as well as practical with the guidance of
qualified IT teacher.

Co-Curricular |
Educational Trip to Kandy on 25/02/2011 of grade 6,7 and 8 children as a part of
their co-curricular activities. significant to their religious doctrine.
Wesak
The children observed sil every year during the Wesak also a soft drink
dansala was held.

Sports |
Athletics
Our athletes are trained by a qualified Physical Training Instructor. They won
championship at the Inter branch sport meet. Out of them 6 athletes are selected
as “Athletes Stars” and they are undergoing a special training program with the
selected other branch athletic stars to participate for the International
athletics meets in future.
Cricket
Our cricketers are participating in training sessions at Wattala once a week
under a qualified cricket coach .Aiming to take part in inter branch cricket
tournaments in future.
Badminton
Badminton coaching camp is held once a week by a qualified Badminton coach
assisted by our teacher in charge of badminton from 6.00am to 7.30 am at the
school ground.

Extra Curricular Activities |
Cub Scouting
Training sessions are conducted weekly by a Cub Scout Commissioner assisted by
our two teachers. Our cubs participated for the job week activities. Our Cub
Scouts achieved the Gold Star badges.
Little friends
Training sessions are conducted by our teachers once a week to take up the
challenges as Girl Guides in the near future.
Western band
Commenced their performance from 2008. Band is well trained now by the music
teachers. They add glamour and pride to school.
Karate
Karate coaching is held once a week by a qualified Karate instructor: schedules
are very enthusiastic about Karate.

|
“Courtesy development camp” was organized for grade 5,6 & 7 student by Mrs.
Anoma Piyadasa teacher in charge of courtesy organising different group
activities to develop their good moral values. |

Founders Day - 08th January 2013 the birthday of late Chairman Mr. Nimal Saparamadu is now a day declared as ‘Founders Day’. The Founders day followed after his 2nd death anniversary passed on 15th December 2012. A Commemorative speech was delivered by the Headmistress and the school teachers’ children, paid tribute to late Mr. Saparamadu by garlanding his portrait.

09th Anniversary celebrations of The Biyagama Branch - At the branch held a ‘Seth Pirith’ ceremony on 11th January 2013 in connection with the 9th Anniversary celebrations with the participants of students, teachers and parents as well.
