Kotikawatta Branch |
OKI International School, Kotikawatte was established in September 2006 with
only 50 students. After 5 years of operations, the student strength has now
increased to 192, with a teaching staff of 13. It signifies a fourfold increase.
OKI International School adopts a policy to add one grade to the top end of the
study stream annually so that six years from now the school will be a fully
fledged school covering the span Pre-grade to Advance Level classes.

Academic Stream |
This branch has classes up to Grade 5. English is the medium of studies and
Sinhalese, Tamil and French languages are taught from primary school. The
teachers are mostly graduates or trained teachers with teaching experience.
Annually for Grade 5 students a scholarship examination is held giving an
opportunity to receive grants. At grade 7 another scholarship test will be held
by OKI across all branches. By 2013 the first batch from this branch will sit
for the Gr 7 scholarship examination. The branch is equipped with an IT
Laboratory.

Co-Curricular |
Conforming to the co-curricular activities of the main school at Wattala,
Kotikawatte branch follow suit by having the following: Language Day: This year
the language was held at the school premises on 18th of February 2011.
Islamic Day was held collectively with all other branches of OKI on Saturday
18th June 2011 in the main school Primary Section.
The Annual Concert again was a joint effort with Primary School Wattala was
staged on 12th of July 2011 at the BMICH.
Poson Bhakthi Gee was held on 14th of June 2011 at the school premises.
Children belonging to their religions namely Roman Catholicism, Buddhism, Islam
and Hinduism conduct religious assemblies regularly twice a week and hold a
religious day significant to their religious doctrine.

Sports |
Branch students engage in sports activities such as athletics, cricket,
badminton, and swimming.
Athletics
Because children are still below 11 years athletic practices are done only at
branch level under an eminent coach. Children with potential are emerging to
show their prowess at the next ISAC meet.
Cricket
The children in the branch commenced cricket practices from 18th October 2010
with 9 students and presently there are 15 students. Those excel will enter into
the U 13 OKI school cricket team. Practices are on Mondays and Thursdays in the
nets at Wattala branch and Mahara Prison grounds on Wednesdays from 2.30 to 4.30
pm
Badminton
Commenced on 27.10.10 with 10 students and practices continue on every Wednesday
in the school play-ground from 6.00 to 7.30 am.
Swimming
In the weekly timetable periods are allocated for Swimming and children are
taken to the OKI swimming school for practices. Those excel are absorbed into
the OKI swimming squad to represent the school in the championships.
Karate
Plans are underway to commence Karate when the numbers are feasible to start.

Inter branch Percussion Band Competition was held on 1st of July 2011.
