Co curricular Activities |
|
The OKI has the right blend for academic, emotional, physical and moral well
being of the children. Children are given immense opportunities to get involved
in co curricular activities. To name a few Science Society, Commerce Society,
English Literature, and all religions with their associations established.
Across all branches the co curricular activities are carried out uniformly.
Language day, Concerts, Science Day, and Art and Craft Exhibitions have been
held by all branches this year receiving the parental appreciation.
Some of the Arts, Creations have been sent to UN office in Sri Lanka at request.
The UN club of OKI which is strengthened by a top UN representative a parent of
this school is a huge advantage, especially to muster our children’s art and
photography skills.

Extra curricular Activities |
Percussion bands have been newly installed in Negombo, and Kotikawatta branches,
making all branches are now having their own percussion bands.
An inter branch percussion band competition was held in June 2011, with the
participation of all six branches. In Dancing the children below 7 years and 15
years emerged as gold medallists and won the all island trophy for the 5th
consecutive year. |

Cubs and Boys Scouting
|
Cub scouting and Boys scouting are presently function at the main school and
many children in the scouting contingent have received silver medals few even
the gold medals. Depending on the numbers showing interest both cub and boys
scouting will be extended to the branches as well.

Western Band |
At present the Main School at Wattala and Kandana branch have their own Western
Bands, trained by a retired Sri Lanka Navy band leader. These bands perform not
only at school functions but also festivals of neighbouring churches. The band
is equipped with all modern instruments and children undergo regular practices.

|
Eastern Band |
Matching with the standard of the Western Band the Main School and Kandana
branches have Eastern Bands equally competent to show their excellent
performances at school functions.
