Welcome to OKI International School - Primary School Wattala |
Environment
The classrooms are airy and spacious with special rooms for music and dance
enabling the students to shine and perform each in his or her own chosen field.
The buildings form part of the perimeter of an extensive playground which has
ample space for at least 300 students to indulge in any sport or game of their
choice at any one time. While the young ones have their own corner with all
possible play equipment like slides and climbing structures etc., the older ones
are provided with training and coaching in football, cricket etc. The
environment provides for the complete freedom of movement.
History of the Branch
The Primary Section which was part of the main school since 1998 moved into its
own new premises at the commencement of the new academic year 2008 – 2009. This
branch has classes up to Grade 5. The Leadership and Management of the school is
outstanding and underpins the school’s strength..
Lead by the Principal Mr. Ivor Happuarchchi and ably supported by the Head
Mistress Mrs. Barbara Perumal and her team of experienced co-ordinators and
teachers, all fully involved and working collectively towards ensuring that the
students achieve high standards. |

Academic Stream |
English is the medium of studies and Sinhalese, Tamil and French languages are
taught from primary school. The teachers are mostly graduates or trained
teachers with teaching experience.
Annually for Grade 5 students a scholarship examination is held giving an
opportunity to receive grants. The commitment of the entire staff ensures that
they are fully aware of the strengths and abilities of the students and the
areas in which they need additional support contributing towards the students
performing to their full potential.

Character, Religion and Morals |
